What is the Connecticut Data Privacy Act?
The Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA) will take effect on July 1, 2023.
CTDPA offers similar rights to Virginia’s law (VCPDA), meaning that businesses will have to provide a way to enable users in Connecticut to opt out of targeted advertising. The act protects residents who are acting in an individual/household context. It doesn’t protect those who are acting in an employment context.

- Controls or processes the personal data of at least 100,000 consumers
- Controls or processes the personal data of at least 25,000 consumers, and derives at least 25% of its gross revenues from selling personal data
