Cassie joins IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework
February 6th, 2024
Today marks a significant milestone for Cassie as we proudly announce our approved status as the latest Consent Management Platform (CMP) to join IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework v2.2 (TCF). This decision underscores our unwavering commitment to privacy and our dedication to providing organizations and their users with a secure and transparent online environment.
The TCF, which was launched in April 2018, is a cross-industry voluntary standard that relies on standardisation to facilitate compliance with certain provisions of the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR. It applies principles and requirements derived from these two legislative instruments to the specific context of the online industry, taking account of relevant EU-level guidance from the EDPB and national level guidance from Data Protection Authorities.
The TCF is developed by IAB Europe in collaboration with organisations and professionals in the online industry. It is intended to enable publishers of websites and apps (first parties) and technology partners that support the delivery, personalisation or measurement of advertising and content (third parties or vendors) to work together and provide users with a standardised experience when they make privacy choices.
The TCF enables users to grant or withhold consent and also exercise their ‘right to object’ to data being processed. It includes minimum practical requirements that stems from guidelines of Data Protection Authorities and jurisprudence for informing users, providing them with privacy choices, and for respecting such choices.
Cassie’s decision to join the TCF is a testament to our dedication to user privacy and our desire to contribute collectively to build a trustworthy and privacy-centric online ecosystem. By becoming a part of this framework, Cassie CEO, Glenn Jackson states:
“At Cassie, we believe that user privacy is paramount. Joining IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework v2.2 is not just a milestone for us; it’s a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing a secure and transparent online experience for our users. By adhering to the principles of the TCF, we aim to empower users with standardized privacy choices and contribute to creating a digital landscape where trust and transparency are at the forefront. Cassie is excited to play a role in shaping the future of online privacy and ensuring that users can navigate the digital world confidently and with control over their personal data.”
